53rd Annual Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes
10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Downtown Waxahachie
Trail attendees toured several beautiful private homes featured in this year’s tour and experienced the rich, century-old history of each house. This year, we also kicked off the tour with “our home,” the Ellis County Museum where Trail tour-goers experienced a special guided tour of the newly renovated third floor event center, 1889 on The Square, plus a specially curated exhibit featuring 53 years of Gingerbread Tour history. Additionally, attendees received access to the exquisite and ornate Sims Library Lyceum and the historic Ellis County Courthouse, while taking in the charming shops and unique eateries located throughout Downtown Waxahachie.
Gingerbread Trail Premiere Party

53 Years of Gingerbread Trail History Exhibit
Take a journey through the history of one of Ellis County’s most beloved traditions in this brand new exhibit featuring the Gingerbread Trail. Experience the magic of Gingerbread architecture and how Waxahachie came to be known as “The Gingerbread City.” See decades of history and learn how the Gingerbread Trail came to feature some of the most beautiful homes in Ellis County!
Nicholas P. Sims Library Tour
Explore one of the most beautiful buildings in Waxahachie! A pioneer in privately-endowed Texas libraries, get an inside look at the stunning gilded-plaster Lyceum inside the Nicholas P. Sims Library.

Free Historic Courthouse Tours
If you haven’t experienced the Historic Waxahachie Courthouse up and personal, you’re missing out! This is a must-do guided tour, and is free to the public thanks to Historic Waxahachie, Inc.
